My Garden

Nice of you to visit me and I assume, you would like to take a look at my garden. Well, garden...., some would call it an outsized container, the whole lot measures 3 by 4 m.
I usually refer to it as my 'Thumbnail-garden'.
Still, I can be very busy with it and grow quite a lot of different plants (last counting was about 90) in it.
Here is a picture taken hanging out off the window above:

View

As you see, it is all fenced in: the house facing west,
a north-facing fence, two sheds on the east side
and the neighbour's kitchen wall on the south.
Furthermore, I live in the center of the city of Utrecht in the Netherlands
(zone 5, I think),so many houses around, that cast a lot of shade.
On the other hand it is very protected, almost a microclimate and it does not get very cold in winter.
Only about half is earth, the rest is pavement, where I keep a lot of containers.
They need an awful lot of water each day though, keeps me off the street...

Container Corner

For lack of space I even put some containers on the roof of the shed, which means climbing on the ladder each day to water them.
Well, as long as they are nice to me and grow and flower as they should, I don't mind too much!

BelleThis is also the favorite spot of Belle, the cat from the neighbours. She is rather cute, that is as long as she stays up there, and does not use my garden as a litterbox.....

It turns out, that I am not the only one who thinks she is cute. The other day I, that is Belle, received some fan-mail from Thomas, a beautiful red tom cat.

Thomas It appears that he instantly fell in love with Belle, he sent her some goodies, which she gracefully accepted, and a picture of himself, and now it's up to her... Shall they ever meet???
